Stoffel Vandoorne (P14): 7/10
Another driver who has been driving with one hand tied behind his back because of the deficiencies of his race car, Stoffel Vandoorne was also making his final appearance on the F1 grid for the time being as he prepares to go all-electric in Formula E next month. His last Grand Prix weekend with McLaren started in predictable fashion as he was once again demolished by team mate Fernando Alonso in qualifying. He put in a feisty performance on Sunday, but no matter what he did in the race he was never able to advance beyond 11th place with a lengthy first stint before falling back to 14th by the finish. Even so, the Belgian professed to have enjoyed his Formula 1 swan song and said that he had given it everything, which is a good summary of his too-brief two-year spell with the team.
