Valtteri Bottas (P2, Pole, 18 pts): 9/10
Valtteri Bottas continues to put in his best start to any season in F1, and he was certainly on the pace again in Spain. Fastest of anyone in FP1 and FP2, he only missed out on a practice sweep when outpaced by Lewis Hamilton in the final session. But he dominated qualifying, topping all three rounds and beating his team mate to pole by a whopping 0.634s; you could hear the sound of jaws dropping up and down pit road at that one! Alas, a clutch problem at the start of the race saw him drop behind Hamilton in the first corner and he was lucky to hold on to second from a sniping Sebastian Vettel. After that Bottas seemed to have nothing in reserve to fight back for the lead, leaving him putting in the miles to finish as runner-up. It's a measure of the strength of his season to date that this just didn't feel good enough for the Finn this week.
