Jolyon Palmer - DNF - 2/10
Palmer has been quick around Monaco in junior categories but he suffered too many crashes this weekend and didn’t even reach the first corner. Ran wide at Tabac in FP1 and hit the barrier, before spinning in FP3 at high speed at the Swimming Pool and damaging the rear wing in an incident which could have been much worse. On the race start once the safety car peeled off, Palmer lost control on the pit straight - blaming wheelspin in fifth gear on the white lines - and had a heavy crash. Will feel unlucky with the last one, but it’s an error nobody else made. A weekend to forget.
