Daniel Ricciardo - 2nd place, 18 points - 9.5/10
You have to feel sorry for Ricciardo, who was outstanding all weekend. Quick on Thursday, he held his advantage on Saturday and took a maiden pole position with a stunning lap. Leading in the wet at the start of the race Ricciardo looked in a class of one, and even though Hamilton had track position, Ricciardo’s in lap before taking on slick tyres - one lap after the defending champion had stopped - was mighty and should have been more than enough to secure the lead and victory. Sadly, Red Bull failed to get the right tyres ready and a very slow stop allowed Hamilton to sneak ahead and robbed Ricciardo of what would - and should - have been a fully-deserved win.
