Considering how poor Williams was here last year, picking up a point represents a solid result. Held off Vettel well for a number of laps as he ran to lap 20 before switching to intermediates which gained some track position, but didn’t have the pace to challenge anyone further ahead. Any pressure he may have been under in the closing laps dissipated when Esteban Gutierrez ran wide at Rascasse, and from there he used his experience to bring the car home.
