Daniel Ricciardo (P7, 6 pts): 7.5/10
Renault was looking very much back on form this weekend after the disappointment of Austria, and Daniel Ricciardo and team mate Nico Hulkenberg seemed evenly matched this weekend at Silverstone. First blood went to Ricciardo in FP1 and then to Hulkenberg in FP2, and back again on Saturday morning. When it came to qualifying both men made it through to the final pole shoot-out round, Ricciardo coming out on top with a seventh place grid spot. He lost out to Lando Norris on the first lap but eventually took his revenge by making an early stop and undercutting the McLaren rookie. The timing of the safety car then allowed Carlos Sainz to get ahead of him. That's the way it stayed for the rest of the afternoon despite Ricciardo's best efforts to force his way past in the closing laps, leaving the Australian mildly irked to miss out on 'best of the rest' honours but still happy to be back in the top ten this weekend.
