Robert Kubica (P15): 4.5/10
Pretty much the only bright spot we can find for Williams' Robert Kubica this weekend is that he was quicker than his team mate George Russell in FP2. However that was because of gearbox issues in Russell's car: in the morning session, the rookie had been 1.3s quicker than the Pole The gap was again in Russell's favour in final practice, although down to a less humiliating four tenths. Despite such painful observations, Williams as a whole seemed a little more on the pace at Silverstone, and Kubica benefited from this in the race and took his best result of the season so far. Okay, so finishing ahead of a Ferrari (not to mention a Racing Point) was due to external factors, but it wouldn't have happened if Kubica hadn't kept his nose clean and the FW42 once again showed commendable reliability if not pace.
