F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2019 British GP

Daniil Kvyat (P9, 2 pts): 7.5/10
After a consistent time in practice, Daniil Kvyat suffered a curious lapse in form when it came to qualifying on Saturday afternoon. Complaining about the balance of the STR14, he failed to avoid the cut at the end of Q1 and had to resign himself to starting from 17th place on the grid. Claiming points on Sunday from here looked like an unattainable dream for the young Russian. He had gained only two spots before his early pit stop, and a change to medium tyres meant he was unlikely to get to the end of the race without a second stop. Fortunately the safety car period helped him do this at reduced cost, and thereafter Kvyat diligently worked his was through the field. He eventually popped up in ninth place in the final laps, and finished off his day with a satisfying joust with Kimi Raikkonen. All in all a much better outcome to his weekend than he had been expecting.
