F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2019 Bahrain GP

Helmut Marko (AUT) Red Bull Motorsport Consultant and Pierre Gasly (FRA) Red Bull Racing.

Pierre Gasly (P8, 4 pts): 6/10
Pierre Gasly wasn't able to show his true potential in the season opener in Melbourne, so we weren't unduly worried by how far off his team mate's pace he appeared to be at the time. However, Bahrain is starting to ring some alarm bells. While it's true that the Red Bull wasn't at its best this week, Gasly was nonetheless a long way behind his team mate all weekend and started the race eight places further down the grid than Verstappen. He admitted afterwards that he simply didn't feel totally comfortable with the RB15 yet, while his team mate was doing a better job of working with the material to hand. Finishing in the points was actually the best part of the weekend for Gasly, but he needs to rediscover something of his 2018 form to ensure that he doesn't find himself in trigger-happy Helmut Marko's cross-hairs over the summer.
