Robert Kubica (P16): 5.5/10
After his wretched return to F1 duty last time out in Melbourne, the Bahrain Grand Prix proved a much more rewarding experience for Robert Kubica. He kept his nose clean and avoided any unfortunate incidents as he got to grips with the car. Unfortunately that car was the Williams FW42, and there is only so much that any driver however talented can extract from it. Kubica himself admitted to struggling with the handling and said afterwards that his focus had been on just keeping the car on track rather than on extracting race performance, which is why he finished two laps down - the last car still running at the chequered flag. And once again there wasn't a single session all weekend where he finished ahead of his rookie team mate George Russell, although the gap is narrowing.
