Valtteri Bottas (P2, 18 pts): 7/10
Coming off the high of his victory in the Australian Grand Prix, it was back down to earth with a bump for Valtteri Bottas in Bahrain as it was quickly clear that Mercedes were playing second fiddle to Ferrari on the time sheets. On the plus side, Bottas managed to keep on an even-footing with his team mate, and when the lights went out on Sunday he got another great launch from the grid to take a surprise second place. Unfortunately that rather fizzled out a lap later when he was caught out by the gusty wind and ran too deep into turn 1, dropping back down to fourth. That's pretty much where he stayed for the duration, until misfortune struck both Ferraris and promoted him back up to second by the time the safety car fixed the positions. On the plus side, his fastest lap point from Melbourne means he retains the lead in the championship heading to Shanghai.
