Lewis Hamilton (P1, 25 pts): 8/10
It was far from a vintage Lewis Hamilton performance, as the driver himself would be the first to admit. He was on the back foot from the start, with the two Ferraris immediately holding a significant straight-line speed advantage that Mercedes seemed at a loss to counter. A realistic Hamilton set his sights on damage limitation but when the lights went out he got stuck behind a slow-starting Charles Leclerc which dropped him to fourth. A strategic decision to stick with soft tyres for his second stint also failed to pay off. But Hamilton stuck with it and subsequently came out on top in wheel-to-wheel combat with Sebastian Vettel, and it was no accident that he was in perfect position to benefit from Leclerc's heartbreaking late engine troubles.
