2016 Japanese Grand Prix - Driver ratings

Motor Racing - Formula One World Championship - Japanese Grand Prix - Race Day - Suzuka, Japan

Daniil Kvyat - 13th place - 7/10

A tough weekend for Toro Rosso where its power unit deficit came to the fore more than the strength of its chassis. Qualifying had shown exactly where the Toro Rosso should be and Kvyat duly delivered a performance to match, as many drivers did. Was around five seconds off the back of Palmer but losing time and his final stint simply became to manage blue flags well enough to ensure the other Renault of Magnussen could not close in. Kvyat’s challenge can be summed up with one look at the race speed traps, where he was slowest in two and second slowest in the third.
