2016 Japanese Grand Prix - Driver ratings

Motor Racing - Formula One World Championship - Japanese Grand Prix - Race Day - Suzuka, Japan

Jolyon Palmer - 12th place - 8/10

Two good weekends in a row for Palmer who has hit his stride somewhat at Renault just as the team nears a decision about its future driver line-up. Made it through to Q2 even though Renault seemed to struggle for pace in qualifying, and was then on the move in a race where there were no retirements. Pulled off a one-stop strategy and showed good pace throughout, sitting about 10 seconds behind the battle for the final point between Williams and Grosjean but couldn’t close the gap before finally being lapped and losing further time with blue flags.
