Valtteri Bottas - 10th place, 1 point - 7.5/10
While the two Williams drivers maximised the potential of the car, Bottas should have been the lead man home after being ahead throughout the first stint. With his pace strong enough to stay out, he was kept out two laps longer then Massa in an attempt to have fresher tyres late on, but he lost 2.6s in the pits compared to his team-mate which, coupled with Massa’s undercut, meant Bottas rejoined second on the road. Shadowed the Brazilian to the end as a result, to such an extent he followed him through against Sainz at Turn 2 when the Toro Rosso ran wide after defending against Massa’s initial overtake.
