Esteban Gutierrez - 20th place - 5/10

The anomaly in the race, Gutierrez lost ten positions overall while the biggest difference in the rest of the field was a loss of four places for team-mate Grosjean and a gain of four places for Palmer and Button. Gutierrez held station at the start - something of a success after struggles this season - but his first pit stop dropped him to 21st place. Trying to make progress but stuck in traffic, Gutierrez appeared to overreact to Sainz defending against him at the chicane and spun, damaging his front wing. It ruined his race with nobody else making a similar error.
