Jenson Button - 18th place - 6/10
The lack of performance in qualifying led McLaren and Honda to take a new power unit as Button was already starting so low down, but he made a poor start from last place, blaming the new components. On hard tyres he was then stuck behind the Manor pair - on softs - and only moved up one position when team-mate Alonso pitted for the first time. Eventually the softs degraded and Button made some progress after his final stop but he had already been cut adrift to some extent being held back for so long.
