2016 Japanese Grand Prix - Driver ratings

Motor Racing - Formula One World Championship - Japanese Grand Prix - Race Day - Suzuka, Japan

Esteban Ocon - 21st place - 8/10

Two Manors finishing last and second last doesn’t sound unusual, but this was a very good showing from Ocon who got the better of team-mate Wehrlein in both qualifying and the race. Both drivers started on softs and Ocon had track position when resulted in cars getting between the pair after pit stops. Dealt with traffic well and pulled clear in the middle part of the race, and in the final stint of the race was consistently quicker than Gutierrez ahead of him, closing in on the Haas to finish just two seconds adrift at the flag.
