Valtteri Bottas (P1, Fastest lap, 26 pts): 9.5/10
It was a brilliant season opener for Valtteri Bottas, who kept in touch with his team mate for the whole race weekend - even when Lewis Hamilton pulled out his usual untouchable performance in qualifying to annex pole position in Melbourne for the sixth time in succession. Unfazed, the Finn focused on getting the jump on Hamilton into the first corner in the race instead, and he succeeded in doing so rather brilliantly. The pace he went on to execute for the remaining 58 laps never flagged, and he even had enough in reserve to successfully claim Formula 1's first point of the 21st century for setting the fastest lap in the race. It was a great return to form for Bottas who had been pressure to justify his place at Mercedes after a winless 2018 campaign, and he's immediately marked himself out as a genuine title contender this year.
