Kimi Raikkonen (P8, 4 pts): 7/10
It's déjà vu all over again for Kimi Raikkonen, who has returned to the team where his F1 career began in 2001 - only now with a new name. (The team, that is, not the driver. Obviously.) There's been a lot of buzz about Alfa Romeo leading up to the first race of 2019, but it didn't really pay off once the cars actually hit the track in Melbourne. Despite their boosted funding and stronger ties with Ferrari, Alfa Romeo weren't able to establish themselves as the 'best of the midfielders' behind the Big Three. But it wasn't for a lack of trying on Raikkonen's part, the 39-year-old veteran pushing for all he was worth in the race but still frustrated in his attempts to pass the cars in front despite this year's new aero regulations. Raikkonen's race was also compromised by a bizarre mishap with a visor tear-off getting caught in the rear brakes, which meant he had to pit earlier than expected. Perhaps otherwise we would have seen some vintage reenergised Kimi on Sunday.
