Sergio Perez had a bad start to the weekend when he was outpaced by his team mate Lance Stroll in both of Friday's practice sessions. Saturday proved more positive for the Mexican driver, and he made it all the way into Q3 to secure tenth place on the grid for Sunday's race. It should have been a solid basis for a points-paying performance, except it didn't happen: a poor start meant that he fell to 13th place by the chequered flag. Nor can he blame it on the performance of the still-in-progress RP19, because his younger, less experienced and considerably more criticised team mate Lance Stroll went confidently in the opposite direction from 16th on the grid to ninth at the line. Let's be honest - we didn't think we've be seeing that outcome in Melbourne.
