Sergio Perez (P8, 4 pts): 8/10
There was a bit of a wobble in Melbourne, but since then Sergio Perez has reconfirmed his status as the lead driver at Racing Point. It took him a while to get going this weekend in Shanghai, and it wasn't until Saturday that he was lapping faster than his team mate Lance Stroll. But after that he was convincingly the better of the pair in qualifying which meant he started the race from 12th, from where he gained an astonishing four places on the first lap. Nor was it a fluke, as the Mexican driver maintained the position for all but eight laps (around the first pit stops). It was as impressive a performance as you could hope to get from anyone racing in a bright pink-and-black firesuit on Sunday, and a nice haul of points for the team
