F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2019 Chinese GP

Max Verstappen (P4, 12 pts): 8.5/10
Max Verstappen has certainly been enjoying a much better start to the season than he endured 12 months ago with all those technical issues, but consistent finishes are bringing with them the slow realisation that Red Bull are a very long way off the pace of both Mercedes and Ferrari. Within the limitations of the RB15 and its evolving Honda power unit, the Dutch driver has done as well as could be expected. Moreover he's showing a level of maturity and calm in the cockpit that shows how much he's grown as a driver and as a person. That was perfectly demonstrated by his wheel-to-wheel encounter with Sebastian Vettel on lap 19, where he produced one of his trademark late lunges at the turn 14 hairpin but made sure it was clean, with both cars escaping the encounter intact.
