The ART driver was left for lost for the sport following the massive crash and injuries to his legs he suffered in F2 at Spa in 2019 in a tragic incident that cost the life of French hopeful Anthoine Hubert.
Correa endured months of hardship and underwent 26 surgeries to regain his mobility and strength, and the hope of pursuing his career in motorsport.
He made it back to the racetrack last year, racing in F3, and his podium on Saturday was a well-deserved reward for his incredible efforts.
"First podium since the accident… oh this one means a lot guys, it’s been a long time coming, thank you," an emotional Correa told his team over team radio after crossing the finish line.
Get in there Juan Manuel!
