This is quite an extraordinary photography from our good friend Paul-Henri Cahier, and one which perfectly sums up McLaren's 1984 season. The story here ? Jonathan Palmer crashed on the 12th lap of the 1984 British GP, the race was stopped. Alain Prost and Niki Lauda were way in the lead. They came to the start-finish line, stopped, and got out of their cars before any other driver arrived.
Meanwhile, Paul-Henri Cahier was crossing the track, and caught this studio scene from the corner of his eye, aimed the Canon 500 mm lens, and shot the last Kodachrome frame on his roll of film... What a beauty.
