Carlos Sainz (P4, 12 pts): 7.5/10
Carlos Sainz remains the only non-Red Bull driver to win a Grand Prix this season, but neither he nor the team looked strong enough to pull off that feat again in Mexico. He was unwell on Thursday and suffered a hydraulic issue in first practice, and it was no surprise that Charles Leclerc was the fastest of the Ferrari pair all weekend. Sainz' success snatching P2 in qualifying came out of the blue and the highlight of his weekend, but he was no match for Max Verstappen at the start of the race. Subsequently undercut by Lewis Hamilton during the first round of pit stops, to be honest even fourth still slightly flattered Sainz this week.
Charles Leclerc (Pole, P3, 15 pts): 8.5/10
Ferrari didn't look in vintage form in practice coming into qualification, so the fact that Charles Leclerc stormed to pole position on Saturday with Carlos Sainz completing a Ferrari front row lock-out was a big surprise for everyone. Where that pace came from we'll never know. Unfortunately it didn't hang around into Sunday, and Leclerc was overtaken by Max Verstappen in the run down to turn 1 even before he ended up crashing into Sergio Perez at the first corner. Compromised by wing damage in the first half of the race, and outfoxed by Lewis Hamilton's medium gambit at the restart, he was lucky to hold on to a podium - although by no means undeserving.
