Lewis Hamilton has called out the "irresponsible and selfish" behavior of those who continue to socialize amid the current coronavirus crisis.
The latest numbers linked to the global pandemic which continues to spread sit at 341,560 cases worldwide and a death toll that has now reached 14,748.
Several countries in Europe have been put in lock-down, their governments imploring people to remain in self-isolation and respect the prescribed restrictions.
But many aren't heeding the call, a behavior which Hamilton denounced on social media.
"I’m so sad to hear of the amount of deaths happening around the world," said the six-time world champion.
"I know most of us are limited with the knowledge of why and how this has happened.
"There is nothing we can do about it either way except try to isolate ourselves, stop ourselves from catching it and spreading it.
"There are people out there still going to clubs and bars and large gatherings which I personally feel is totally irresponsible and selfish," added the Briton.
"I’m praying for my family's safety each day but I’m also praying for you out there.
"I’m praying for those working at the local stores, delivers, doctors and nurses who put their own health at risk to help others and keep the countries running.
"Those are the heroes. Please stay safe people."
Hamilton remained in Melbourne after the cancellation of the Australian Grand Prix, where the 35-year-old clarified his own health situation regarding the coronavirus after recently coming into contact with two people who later tested positive for the disease.
On Twitter, Hamilton insisted he had no symptoms of the coronavirus but also admitted he had not taken the test.
