Starting from the dull edge of the order, the Kiwi lit up the brakes at Turn 1 and rubbished his set of Pirellis. With the stop for fresh rubber, Hartley was relegated to a lonely run to the flag, but at least his power unit completed 57 of the 58 laps around Albert Park.
