Lance Stroll, Aston Martin (P10, 1 pt): 6.5/10
Lance Stroll's performance in practice had been a bit up and down. He can probably thank the changeable weather conditions for making it through to the final round of qualifying and setting himself up in eighth place on the grid, one spot behind his Aston Martin team mate Fernando Alonso. The pair ran together after their first pit stops, with Alonso taking point right up to lap 65 when strategy put Stroll in front. The Canadian resisted calls to return the position to Alonso before the chequered flag which won't have gone down well with the two-time world champion, who has been at pains to nurture and mentor the boss's son since his arrival at the squad. Will Stroll pay for that down the line?
Yuki Tsunoda, RB (P9, 2 pts): 8/10
After a bit of a dip on his early season form, that's now two points finishes for Yuki Tsunoda in a race that realistically presented little opportunity to make significant gains on Sunday afternoon. Tsunoda had made it through to the final round of qualifying and lined up in P10, although he lost places to Alex Albon and Kevin Magnussen at the start. But that was because he was conserving his medium tyres, becoming the only driver to achieve a one-stop strategy with a whopping 29 laps completed on that first stint. It meant that even after pitting he was still in the top ten, and passing Lance Stroll on lap 45 doubled his points tally by the time he saw the chequered flag. If the aim was to set himself up in pole position in case Red Bull reshuffles its drivers over the summer, then this was a job well done for the Japanese driver.
