Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto says the Italian outfit has "a clear ambition" for this season, hinting that only race wins will make him and his team happy in 2022.

The Scuderia unveiled on Thursday its all-new F1-75, a design that Binotto said reflected his team's "creative" and "brave" approach to F1's new regulations.

"We have tackled the challenge of this project with an innovative approach," said the Swiss engineer.

"Because apart from the requirements of the completely new technical regulations we believe that we had to take on this exercise with an open mind.

"It called on all our know-how our creativity and above all our commitment. This is what I would call a brave Ferrari because we have interpreted the rules thinking outside the box."

And the purpose of Ferrari's innovative approach is to return the Scuderia to the winner's circle from where it has been absent since Sebastian Vettel's victory in the Singapore Grand Prix in 2019.

Speaking to the media after the F1-75's launch, Binotto communicated his team's objective loud and clear.

"I think we've got a clear ambition, and that is Ferrari's ambition, my ambition, that at some time means we need to come to become World Champion," he said.

"But we know as well how difficult it is to close the gap to the best. Last year, at the end of the season, the gap was still very big.

"I think our objective for 2022 certainly is to back to being competitive and being competitive means being capable of winning races.

"I think that's the way we see at the moment. And I think we will be pretty happy if we will be in that position."

Aiming for high stakes inevitably induces high expectations - not only for a team but also for its many fans - and pressure, which Binotto intends to manage by keeping his head down, focused on the job at hand.

"I think managing the pressure is staying focused on what you're doing," he added.

"I think [being] so busy doing what we are doing each single day by developing the car, designing the car, proving ourselves at the end... we are not really considering the pressure itself.

"I'm really concentrated and focused on my job, together with the entire team, and that's the way it is.

"Do I feel the responsibility? Certainly, I feel it. If we do not win, is that a failure for Ferrari?

"I think it's important for Ferrari to be back to being competitive. [For] a long time we are saying 2022 is our best opportunity to be back to being competitive.

"I am not considering a failure at the moment, because I don't think it is the way it is. We are simply focused on trying to do our best, raising the level and having a good start to the season."
