More than half a century before Gene Haas, a young Californian had built a US F1 team. Lance Reventlow was the heir to a massive fortune but his Scarab cars were front-engined and almost obsolete by the time of their disappointing debut season in 1960. The car was unreliable and saw a number of retirements, but here's one actually still running on track, driven by Chuck Daigh at Zandvoort.
