Roger Penske already owned Indy!

Roger Penske, motorsport's consummate racer and wheeler and dealer, added a couple of impressive assets to his empire yesterday.

The 82-year-old self-made billionaire is now the proud owner of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, perhaps motor racing's most venerable institution.

However, the truth is that 'The Captain' already owned Indy, thanks to Team Penske's record 18 wins at the Brickyard, the first of which it enjoyed in 1973 with Mark Donohue.

There will be more "Baby Borgs" lined up on Penske's desk in the future.
