BUTTONS GALORE

Lewis Hamilton activates DRS with the yellow button (5), while the purple buttons - +10 and +1 - (6 and 9), are colour coordinated to the multi-function purple rotary dial located at the base of the steering wheel (20 on the photo hereunder). This dial has various options such as TYRE, used to fine tune settings linked with specific tyres or conditions, CRUZ, which handles telemetry data collected on long runs, or BITE, which memorises the clutch bite point during checks (starting at Spa, this button will be disabled from the moment the driver exits the garage until 90 seconds from lights out on the grid).

The 'N' button (7) puts the car in neutral, a process that cannot be done via the paddles. Hamilton can press the PC (Pit Confirm) button (10) to confirm a message from the pit wall without necessarily using the radio, while PL (8) commands the pit lane limiter.
