The four-time Le Mans runner-up with Peugeot and Toyota did the business in qualifying, putting the Russian LMP1 entry P4 on the grid. In the race, the one-time Minardi driver ran strong in third place. However, endurance racing is a three-driver affair and his young and little-experienced Russian team mate Matevos Isaakyan crashed hard at the Porsche Curves after dusk and that was that for Sarrazin.
