Oliver Bearman, Haas (P8) 9/10
Much like Hadjar, Bearman made significant amends for a disappointing season opener in Australia. The young Briton started on the hard tyres like Stroll and had a similar strategy, but had even better pace, undercutting the Aston Martin before overtaking the likes of Lawson, Doohan and Gasly on track with ease. Haas provided him with a much better car compared to the previous week, but Bearman certainly made the most of his improved machinery.
Alexander Albon, Williams (P7) 8/10
Once again, Albon put his Williams in a higher position than it perhaps deserves to be, getting into SQ3 and Q3 in both Qualifying sessions. Albon was the tyre whisperer of the Chinese Grand Prix, being the last to get rid o f the medium tyre he started on and even leading the race for a couple of laps as a result. A later pitstop allowed Albon to attack in the latter half of the race, performing several overtakes and keeping out of trouble to score points on his 29th birthday.
