Sergio Perez heads to Miami hoping to sustain the momentum that carried him to second place at Imola last weekend, but the Red Bull driver has also given himself a second mission in Florida.
Perez recently visited the site of next week's inaugural Miami Grand Prix as part of the shooting of a promotional video for Red Bull.
The Mexican even enjoyed a few laps of the Miami International Autodrome which he undertook onboard an older-spec Red Bull.
But in the process of shooting the video around the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Perez lost his Red Bull helmet.
"Someone took my helmet," revealed Perez last weekend at Imola. "I am still looking for my helmet.
"I don't know where it is so far! Hopefully I will be able to find it later."
Anyone who ran off with Perez's lid would likely have a hard time selling it through the usual memorabilia outlets on the internet, or even at a local pawn shop given the artifact's specificity.
So one can only hope that common sense will prevail and the stealer will return to Perez next week what its rightfully his.
But the anecdote won't impact the latter's confidence for F1's first round of racing in America given Red Bull's remarkable performance at Imola.
For Perez, the team's near perfect result went a long way towards making up for the difficulties encountered by Red Bull in Bahrain and in Australia.
"We've been so unlucky," said Perez. "The start has been so difficult for us, so I'm very pleased to see everyone on my team is smiling.
"We just have to keep working. I think there are still a few bits that we have to make better to get closer to the win, but I'm very happy that Max got it."
