Are we witnessing the emergence of a true united front amongst F1 racers? The Grand Prix Drivers’ Association (GPDA) has been very active indeed in recent weeks, criticising F1’s “ill-structured” and “obsolete” governance and calling for major reform in the sport.
Though F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone initially sided with the drivers, he quickly moved to say they “should not even be allowed to talk”. Ahead of this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix, 18 drivers gathered to share dinner in Shanghai before simultaneously taking to their Twitter account to show their unity... and poke some fun at the F1 stakeholders.
