Pérez returned to form in qualifying with a stout 8th best time, but his race was compromised when Sainz pushed him off wide, a move that dropped him to P14. The rest of his day was spent in the tightly bunched mid-field pack. But Checo didn’t have a top ten car on Sunday, and to make matters worse, he was pipped by Ocon late in the running for 11th place.
