It hasn't been always easy for you. A year ago, would someone have told you that F1 would be the next step, would you have believed him?
"Definitely not. At the beginning of last year, it was likely not to happen for me in F2.
"So, at some point, I thought "nevermind F1". But some luck came along with the driver market and it allowed me to be here.
When you start competing at such a young age, is there any room for other career options in case motorsport doesn’t pay off as you would expect?
"Not really (laughs)! It’s actually quite sad but it’s kind of the same with all the people I’ve met in the racing world.
"There’s no real plan B. It was always going to be at least a professional career in racing for me. But if it didn’t happen the way I wanted, I could have maybe become a painter or something close."
Is it linked with other interests that you have outside of racing?
"In a way. I like design for example. I like designing helmets but that’s not the kind of thing I looked at too much to stay focused on racing.
"But to do something related to design or creation, maybe with some traveling involved, could interest me."
