What would you say is the hardest aspect of being an F1 driver?
"One of the hardest parts is the quantity of information you have to digest. Not only information but you also have a lot of people to speak to after every track session.
"We have big meetings with the whole team including the people from Faenza, Bicester [where Toro Rosso's wind tunnel is located], Honda, the track, etc.
"It really shows that there’s a lot of people involved in running an F1 team. The feedback is also very important to develop the car.
"You’re given the tools and you and your team have to play with it. But the possibilities are huge. Basically you can change everything on the car so we’re trying to maximize that.
"I remember Lewis [Hamilton] saying that after so many years in F1 he had developed as a driver but also his skills to get the most out of the package and the people around him.
"That’s something I completely understand. There are many people in the team and the more experienced you get, the better you become at extracting each person’s potential."
And the nicest about your job in F1?
"Just being an F1 driver I think (laughs)!
"The amount of details, the perfectionnism in the sport are just incredible. Every day, I’m smiling in my head thinking how crazy the technology is and being able to experience that is very special.
"That’s really something I enjoy."
