F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2023 Miami GP

Lance Stroll (P12): 5.5/10
Lance Stroll has been quietly impressive so far this season, but that run of solid performances rather came to an end in Miami this weekend. Although he was eighth in FP1 and FP2 and a close match for his Aston Martin team mate Fernando Alonso in both, he stuttered in final practice and then missed the first cut in Q1 and was eliminated after trying to make it through on one set of soft tyres. Meanwhile Alonso proved the true pace of the AMR23 by putting it on the front row of the grid. The team responded by putting Stroll on the hard compound for the start of Sunday's race and getting him to stay out for 42 laps - only Max Verstappen ran longer - by which time he was running in seventh; but with no safety cars or stoppages, his looming pit stop ended up dropping him all the way back to 15th from where there were only minimal gains to be made in the final dozen laps before the chequered flag.

Yuki Tsunoda (P11): 6.5/10
Both AlphaTauri drivers struggled to get going this weekend and were in the bottom three in both of Friday's practice sessions. Tsunoda did at least have the comfort of being ahead of team mate Nyck de Vries. But qualifying proved a shock for the Japanese star, who missed the cut at the end of Q1 leaving him starting from 17th while de Vries successfully made it through into the second round. The Dutch rookie made a mistake at the start of the race and tapped Lando Norris, taking both of them out of contention and letting Tsunoda get on with his race. He quickly made up two places at the start and then settled in behind Lewis Hamilton. Having started on the hard tyres he gained more places as those on mediums ahead made early stops, and he was in the points by the time he finally came in on lap 36. He was able to make moves on Alex Albon and Valtteri Bottas to put himself on the cusp of points, but unlike last time out in Baku he didn't get that lucky final break to put him over the top by the time the chequered flag came out.
