F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2023 Singapore GP

Logan Sargeant (P14): 4.5/10
Singapore is a hard circuit for a rookie to get to grips with (although that said, don't read ahead to see what happened to Liam Lawson and Oscar Piastri), and Logan Sargeant was in the bottom two throughout practice. No surprise then that he missed the cut at the end of the first round of qualifying, leaving him starting the race last on the grid (with Zhou Guanyu on pit lane and Lance Stroll calling in sick). He triggered a safety car on lap 20 after hitting the wall - not for the initial impact itself so much as the debris dropping off his front wing all over the place - and he spent the middle section of the race running right at the back until Fernando Alonso was overwhelmed by his own problems and ended up in the Williams' rear view mirrors for the final run to the finish line.

Nico Hulkenberg (P13): 7/10
A surprisingly good day for once for Haas. Kevin Magnussen might have succeeded in winning a point for the team (their first since Austria) but Nico Hulkenberg also had a much better day then he has in recent weeks. He was ninth in final practice which proved an accurate indicator of what he would manage in the evening where both he and Magnussen succeeded in getting through to the final round of qualifying. They stayed in the top ten until the first round of pit stops: Haas double stacked their cars and Hulkenberg lost out in second place, which cost him time and position. As a result he became stuck behind Liam Lawson on hard tyres in a long DRS train that gave little opportunity for him to bounce back.
