Force India tech boss Andy Green believes the F1 development pace will begin at the outset this year, and continue at a frantic pace until the end of the season.
With all teams starting from a blank sheet following the introduction of new regulations, Barcelona pre-season will be F1's ground zero from which development will take hold almost immediately.
Green underlined that the outfit's new VJM10 was a completely new design with little in common with its VJM09 predecessor. Upgrade steps will therefore be important and frequent.
"It’s definitely a big overhaul; one that requires a change in mentality," Green insisted.
"It took a bit of time to adjust at first, but we are there now and I am confident we know where to look and where the performance is coming from with this car."
Green is expecting a frenzy development onsluaght, with no end in sight until the end of the season.
“The development slope is incredibly steep and we are going to see significant updates to the cars at regular intervals, right from the start.
"It’s going to be big updates and I don’t think development will start to taper off any time soon."
