After the high-profile sale back in May of Ayrton Senna's Monaco-winning McLaren MP4/8-6, another piece of memorabilia associated with the legendary Brazilian is up for auction.
It's also a relatively affordable bona fide artifact - although still estimated at around £70,000 by RM Sotheby's - that will be on offer in London in early September.
According to the consignor, a former mechanic and racing driver and a friend of Senna, the kart was used by the Brazilian in the spring of 1994, on a track located on his farm in the town of Tatui, where he had invited friends for a day of karting and fun.
This was just six weeks before Senna's tragic death at Imola on May 1, 1994.
Ten percent of the proceeds of the sale will be donated to the Instituto Ayrton Senna, the non-profit organization founded by the Senna family that helps provide quality education to young Brazilians.
