It was perhaps but a small and costless gesture, but Sebastian Vettel took a moment to salute those who - quite literally - paid the highest price for Sunday's washed-out race at Spa.
The Belgian Grand Prix was a packed house event, but with Sunday's action limited to a handful of wet laps behind the safety car, the event's brave and patient fans were arguably given a raw deal.
Perhaps Formula 1 should feel inspired by Vettel, a man always attentive to others needs, and show its appreciation for those who remain at the heart of the sport.
