A broken exhaust on Friday, an engine that gave way at the end of Q1 on Saturday, when he had more than enough to advance kept Carlitos’ mechanics very busy. Following an outstanding opening lap with five positions gained, he was in contention for points when he and Stroll came together. When the Spaniard left the pits he didn’t want to lose time behind the Williams, but his attack was too optimistic. Having said that, if it were to happen again - but with a more experienced driver than Lance - the outcome would without a doubt be different.
