Nico has been out of the points since Belgium. His bad fortune continued in qualifying with a balance problem on the R.S.17 which put him out in Q2. But the German is a charger, as Räikkönen was shown on Sunday's opening lap. After an extended first stint, Hulk came out behind Massa and both Haas on super-softs. He had the pace to finish in the top ten, but his DRS had other ideas.
