Palmer’s tenure at Renault ended as it began: with a disappointing performance. Having to compose with a car sliding about in Q2 didn’t mean much as he was to start at the back due to a power unit sanction. Joylon stayed out on softs for 40 laps, moving into the points, but then returned to where he belonged, behind the duo of Massa and Alonso in the fight for the top ten.
