More was expected from Gasly on a circuit he has become familiar with in Super Formula. After a lacklustre first attempt in Q1, he didn’t get a second thanks to Romain Grosjean’s crash which red-flagged proceedings. On Sunday, he was in the scrap for the final point on offer with Massa and the Haas boys, but a massive lock-up followed by a flat spot and a second stop put an end to that.
