MERCEDES GIVES HAMILTON FRESH HORSEPOWER
In order to foster Lewis Hamilton’s recovery in the race following the Briton’s crash in qualifying, Mercedes elected to tap into its engine allocation and give a fifth power unit to the newly-crowned four-time world champion. At some point during the race, the team could be heard telling Hamilton that he still had… 14 boosts available to overtake his rivals. It seems the new plant was of the fourth and latest specification, which had been debuted at Spa-Francorchamps.
